Things often aren’t,

As obvious,

As they should be,

Until you’re looking back.

In hindsight,

You should have known all along.

In hindsight,

You should have guessed.

Some truths hide,

In front of our faces.

They develop slowly,

So we don’t see them,

Until we’re looking back.

Others we know of,

But don’t accept,

Until there is no choice,

But to accept the obvious.

Some cut deeper,

Because you acknowledge,

You should have seen them,

A mile away.

Others bruise,

But don’t break us,

Because we  knew them,

But didn’t believe them.

Truths are not as obvious,

As they should be,

And sometimes you don’t see them,

Until it’s too late.
